Key Positions

IRDA’s administrative and organizational functions shall be carried out through the Secretariat of the Executive Director and five functional departments, each headed by a Director. All positions within the organization shall follow the approved organizational hierarchy and reporting lines as defined in the official organogram.

Recruitment and placement to all positions shall be undertaken in accordance with the approved organogram and Human Resources (HR) Policy, subject to the availability of funds and the expansion of organizational activities in pursuit of IRDA’s vision and mission.

The Executive Director (ED) serves as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the organization and is responsible for overall strategic leadership and day-to-day management. The Executive Director is accountable for implementing the policies, resolutions, and decisions of the Executive Committee and the General Council, and acts as the principal liaison between the governing bodies and the staff of IRDA.

All Directors, along with the Assistant Director (Internal Audit), Advisors/Consultants/International Representatives, the Executive Director’s Secretariat, and IRDA’s linked organizations, shall operate under the direct supervision of the Executive Director. In the event that a Director position is vacant, the most senior eligible staff member of the respective department, as defined in the organogram, shall report directly to the Executive Director or, as directed by the Executive Director, to another Director or senior management position.
