Role & Responsibilities

The RTI Focal Person receives and responds to information requests under the Right to Information (RTI) framework. Responsibilities include:

  • Accepting and recording RTI requests submitted by the public.
  • Providing timely and accurate responses in accordance with IRDA’s information disclosure policies.
  • Coordinating with relevant program teams to gather requested information.
  • Ensuring transparency, confidentiality (where applicable), and proper record-keeping.
  • Supporting requesters with instructions on how to submit RTI applications and tracking their status.

How to Submit an RTI Request

Please include the following when you contact the RTI Focal Person:

  • Your full name and contact details (phone or email).
  • Clear description of the information required (specific documents, dates, programs, etc.).
  • Preferred language (Bangla / English).
  • Any supporting details that will help locate the information more quickly.

Response Time & Transparency

IRDA aims to acknowledge RTI requests within 5 working days and to provide the requested information or a status update as soon as possible according to applicable rules and our disclosure policies. If we require more time, we will inform the requester with an expected timeline.

Privacy & Use of Information

Personal contact details supplied with RTI requests will be used only for processing the request and will be handled securely. IRDA will not disclose personal data except as required by law.
